Injured Sadio Mane Ruled Out of Action

January 29, 2020

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has confirmed that his leading goal scorer, Sadio Mane, will not be available for tonight’s Premier League clash against West Ham United, and that he’s also in doubt for their upcoming Southampton clash due to injury.

The Senegal international has been, without a doubt, in sensational form this season and vital to Liverpool’s success – having scored 15 goals in 31 matches.

Mane suffered a muscle tear unnoticed during Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Wolves last week – he gave Klopp a signal that he was unable to continue – and then limped off the pitch within the first 30 minutes of the game.

This is a huge blow for The Reds as the attack will likely not be at their best performance without him. Klopp has also shown concern that his team is set to play three games in a week without him.

In Mane’s absence, Liverpool’s new signing Takumi Minamino, who replaced him after an injury, will get an opportunity to fight for a permanent attacking spot in the starting XI.

The Senegalese striker is expected to be back in action after the winter break, in time for the crucial Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.
