Liverpool Draw Twists the Title Race

February 05, 2019

Liverpool failed to move five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League after being held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham on Monday, 04 February.

The draw gave the title race another twist by making Man City the new favourites.

The Reds had a great start to the league, with a run of nine straight wins, which gave them a commanding lead at the top of the table, and made them the leading favourites for the title.

However Klopp’s team failed to get seven points clear of the defending champions after producing a draw against Leicester last week.

This week’s draw against the Hammers left only three points between the EPL champions and the contenders, leaving the title wide open.

Klopp’s side is under massive pressure with injury woes. City is set to play against Everton on Wednesday, 6 February, and a win would put them at the top of the table on goal difference before Liverpool.
